It’s been quite an interesting and fun Bargello needlepoint journey thus far.
I am 182 days into the 2010 Bargello Challenge and would like to give you a quick review of my progress.
Over the past 6 months, I’ve stitched a total of 541 hours on 182 different Bargello patterns from 5 different designers: Margaret Boyles, Dorothy Phelan, The Golden Hands Series, Nikki Scheuer, and Barbara Muller.
The Bargello patterns were taken from Bargello: An Explosion in Color, Traditional Bargello, Golden Hands Bargello: A Pattern Book, Designs for Bargello and Florentine Embroidery.
I’ve experimented with a variety of ways to store the completed Bargello samples; and since family and friends are constantly asking to see the entire collection, I am using a large scrapbook to hold them. The result is an archival portfolio with acid-free materials that will not damage the needlework.
From time to time I look back over all the Bargello patterns I have stitched and am unable to believe my own eyes.
I think Daddy would have been very proud. What a great inspiration for me!

Jill, I wish you the best of success with the Crochet Master Certificate program, and look forward to your Bargello challenge in 2011 (smile). Althea
You’re amazing! If I weren’t in the middle of getting the Crochet Master Certificate from CGOA, I’d try a challenge like this too. Maybe for 2011!
Good luck!!
