My free-form bargello needlepoint pillow is beginning to take shape. I’ve attached it to my Lowery Floor Stand so that my hands can be free to stitch quickly and more accurately. Because I’ve decided to experiment with designing as I stitch, I’ve decided to start in the bottom left-hand corner of the pillow.
I’m using a variegated colored border with mitered corners to begin my creative project. Just inside the border is the beginning a basketweave filler for the background (so far).
I’m getting a hankering for some four-way bargello for the center of the design…not sure how large this will be; but it just feels the right way to go. Who knows what I’ll create next or how the colors will work out.
Until tomorrow….

I love bargello, especially historic reproductions and am currently concentrating on 17th/18th century men’s wallets. I LOVE your site and am so looking forward to trying many of the ideas presented. THANKS
