Time Spent: 8 Hours

The busyness of life has a way of intruding in between entries in my bargello needlepoint diary; nevertheless, here are the results of my labor for your review. I’ve had a bit of start and stop to my stitching, but I have spent about 8 hours completing the white four-way background using Silk-n-Ivory thread.

My intent was to design a diamond shape within the square shape of the pillow; but to keep the four-way bargello pattern for the background. At first this was a little daunting (that’s why it took me 8 hours); but I managed to get it just the way I imagined it would be in my mind. That’s how it usually happens for me…I dream about the pattern a night or two before I start to work on an area and then transfer the specs from my dream onto canvas.

After completing the diamond background I set it apart from the rest of the needlepoint pillow areas with a contrasting 4-2 border around the diamond shape. The exciting areas for additional design are the four triangles that are left once the diamond border is worked. I can’t wait to see what creative project designs will come from another night or two of sleep!

God truly does bless us with creativity!
