I’ve always been fascinated by Faberge Eggs. Did you know that only 69 of the original 105 jeweled eggs created by Peter Carl Faberge still exist?
Over the past two centuries, designers and artists have made many reproductions. There are even hand-painted needlepoint canvases depicting a stitching version of these eggs.
In my search for Bargello needlepoint patterns, I discovered two wonderful bargello egg patterns (a la Faberge) that you can stitch to your heart’s delight.
Porcelain Egg by Joan Lohr
This design created for Rainbow Gallery has a scalloped Bargello pattern and is stitched on 6”x8” 18-mesh mono canvas using Splendor, Cashmere, Fyre Werks, Very Velvet and Silk ‘n Cream threads manufactured by Rainbow Gallery.
