I can’t believe it! I forgot to pack several critical bargello needlepoint project supplies and now I have to improvise to get the project done!
It started this way. I was asked to house-sit for my daughter who is on vacation. The duties are minimal…take care of her Italian Greyhound, Sasha, and do a bit of laundry.
So, this morning I quickly gathered the stitching supplies I needed to make the Needlepoint Leaf Ornament and hopped in the car to be dropped off at my daughter’s place.
I started the laundry, fed Sasha, made a cup of tea and pulled out stretcher bars, canvas, threads, scissors, magnet, laying tool, tapestry needle and… OH NO….where are the brass tacks, masking tape and frame weight? I LEFT THEM BEHIND. In a hurry to get to her house so that the chores could be done before my afternoon pick-up, I forgot several key tools!
Determined not to pout or panic, I decided to look around the place to see what could be used for my bargello needlepoint emergency. Rummaging through the toolbox didn’t uncover a thing I could use; but in my daughter’s home office I found a gold mine.
There were push pins that could be used instead of the brass tacks I had left behind. I found a roll of the perfect size masking tape to protect the needlepoint canvas edges; and several heavy and boring business books could be used as a frame weight so that both of my hands could be free to stitch.
Ah the bliss of knowing that I will not have to fore go stitching my bargello needlepoint project!!! Talk about Bargello Needlemania…I’ve got it bad!

I have rooted around on car floors in semidarkness looking for needles, that’s how bad I am.
Keep Stitching,
Janet
