Bargello Needlepoint Renaissance

Those of us who are addicted to needlepoint are unaware of it ever dying as an art form and beloved hobby. But the rest of the world is declaring its rebirth–a Bargello needlepoint renaissance.

A lot of folks are blaming the slow economy for its resurrection. Others are discovering Bargello needlepoint’s stress-reducing benefits. Whatever the explanation, recent surveys indicate that interest in needlepoint is up 30% mostly because of its social aspects.

I don’t know about you, but I love Bargello needlepoint for the freedom it gives me to create and express myself through design and stitching. And yes, the social connections are great as like-minded stitchers get together to share experiences and mutual love for the needle arts.

And for some, Bargello needlepoint provides great entrepreneurial opportunities as well.

Well, renaissance or not, it’s great to choose a Bargello design, pull some threads, stretch the canvas and start to stitch! Here’s to rebirth!
