Located on Historic Street in Ogden, UT, The Needlepoint Joint carries quality supplies for all types of needlework and needlepoint. The shop has been there for 37 years and in that time has amassed a vast array of threads, yarns, tools and fabrics–not only common items, but strange and hard to find things. Some things have become antiques in their care.
The shop also carries a vast array of knitting yarns, books and related supplies. To encourage the art of knitting, the shop is open late on the first Thursday of each month for social knitting.
The Needlepoint Joint lives up to its name. When I lived in Utah, I would frequently plan a day’s outing to the shop to look for unique treasures for my Bargello needlepoint stash. In particular, one Christmas my husband gave me a 27” x 36” hand-painted needlepoint canvas of Henry VIII.
He knew that I loved English historical figures and in trying to find the perfect gift, while browsing in a needlepoint shop, he found and purchased the canvas. I was elated (still am); but didn’t know how to frame it for stitching. On one of my jaunts to The Needlepoint Joint I found stretcher bars exactly in the size needed to frame the canvas!
