Record snowfalls are blanketing the USA this week. In fact, it has been reported that every State, except Hawaii has received some snow. What does this mean for Bargello Needlepoint?
Being “snowed in” is a great opportunity for a Bargello Stitch-In. Since usual activities are cancelled due to poor weather conditions, this is the time to catch up on a few unfinished Bargello projects.
If you find yourself in similar circumstances, or would just like to set aside some time to hold a Bargello Stitch-In, consider these set-up items:
Comfort Food
—Brew a pot of hot tea (or your favorite hot beverage), and place it along with other tea accessories on a tray table in close reach of your stitchin’ area. Add a few tea cookies or delights, but be sure to keep a few wet naps around to clean sticky fingers!
Ambience
—Light a fire in the fireplace for warmth and ambience. Move your stitchin’ area close enough to the fireplace to enjoy the heat but not singe the needlework.
Lighting
—Station a battery operated lantern next to your needlepoint stand in case of power outages.
Stitchin’ Tunes
—If you enjoy stitchin’ to music, gather your favorite audio CDs and portable CD player. Make sure to have enough batteries on hand–just in case.
Bargello Supplies
—Assemble everything you will need to stitch. Pull out several unfinished Bargello projects and choose which ones to work. Refuse to get stressed over the large numbers of projects. After all, this is a Stitch-In and you can work as many projects as you like.
Now, relax and stitch! Take a break about every two hours and stretch to relieve cramped muscles. Simply enjoy this special Bargello Stitch-In time!
