Always on the lookout for clever Bargello ideas and projects, I came across this one from Mary at Colorado Stitcher.
These small Bargello tin toppers make great gifts and are ideal for holding small items like pins, paperclips, and of course brass thumb tacks or tapestry needles.
Check out the post and exercise your creative juices. Consider scaling down some of the Bargello Challenge designs to use to top your tins.

Hello Chris, The Bargello Tin Toppers are wonderful projects! Laurel Knapp of Mountain Laurel Design created them and has stated that she would be happy to help you. If you are interested in stitching a few of these, contact her at this email address: mtnlaureldesign@msn.com. Althea
I have been away from needlepoint for awhile but I am getting back to it. I saw the bargello mint tins and love them. I asked about the bargello design – if one works better than another etc. Then, I found your site. I would love to attend the EGA seminar but will not be going again this year. Is there a way to obtain any of your designs for the tin toppers? I just feel at this point, I need a bit more help in a design. I can check with my EGA chapter to see if they have your “Purple Mountain Majesty” design.
Hello Laurel,
Thanks for letting us know about your other Bargello designs and tin toppers. I hope that other readers will take you up on getting a few of your fun and quick designs. I know I will. Althea
I was surprised and thrilled to see my “Purple Mountain Majesty” design on your website. Thank you for posting it. I really love Bargello and I have used Bargello patterns on a number of projects. I have a bunch of other tin topper designs I’ve charted as well as some other interesting uses for Bargello. If anyone is interested in stitching up some fun and quick designs, my charts will be available at the 2010 EGA Seminar in San Francisco or I can be contacted via email. Thank you again.

Like the given idea a lot!
Something small to start with and have immediate results (I’m a cross stitcher of larger pieces and hardly finish anything LOL).
