To celebrate an historical moment, consider stitching today’s Bargello design called “New York Beauty”.
Found on pp. 38-39 and 69 in Designs for Bargello by Nikki Scheuer, it is adapted from an American quilt that was made around 1776.
The Bargello pattern outline resembles crosses and diamonds; but with the use of color and background fill, the entire piece comes together in one complete design.
I used four shades of Silk n’ Ivory to work the pattern, which is designed for the intermediate-skilled stitcher.
