This design is based on the same source as that of Day 111 –a 16th century German ornament book.
The difference is in the shape of the diamond outline and color scheme.
The Bargello pattern, found on pp. 48-49 in Designs for Bargello by Nikki Scheuer, is worked by making elongated diamond shapes in a 4-2 step, and the background can be worked in two colors. The color photo is on page 72.
I chose a single color for the background to display the interlocking motifs using Silk n’ Ivory thread throughout.
