This Bargello design consists of diamonds within diamonds. Found on pp. 96-97 in Designs for Bargello by Nikki Scheuer, it comes from the Collection Brockhaus in Germany. The color photo is on page 70.
Designed for advanced stitchers, the 4-2 step Bargello pattern is worked from the center of the canvas outward. The large diamond outline is stitched first, after which an inner row is worked.
It seems these days I can’t get enough of Silk n’ Ivory threads, so again I used them to work the Bargello design.

Careful attention must be paid to the small diamonds at the vertical points of the large diamonds. They are different from the small diamonds at the horizontal points. |
