A great example of the Florentine Bargello Filler Stitch, this simple Bargello needlepoint design has an attractive old-world charm.
The last of four small patterns on page 16 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller, its allure comes from the range and diversity of threads that can be used to stitch the Bargello pattern, as well as the infinite number of color scheme possibilities.
To work the simple Bargello pattern, I used a 6-3 step instead of the 4-2 step to showcase the subtle overdyes in the Silk Impressions Thread by Stepf Francis, and Silk ‘n Colors by The Thread Gatherer.
