Day 155: Triple Peaks Bargello Design

Florentine embroidery, bargello, bargello needlepoint patterns, bargello needlepoint, free bargello patterns, bargello stitch, 2010 Bargello Challenge, bargello patterns, bargello embroidery, bargello needlework, needlepoint books, Barbara MullerBecause of its jagged pattern, today’s Bargello Challenge design is better suited for large needlepoint projects like throw cushions and chair covers.

Found on pp.28-29 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller, the 4-3 step Bargello pattern has triple peaks with a scalloped swag on either side.

I worked the peaks as the center focus for my sample; but the full design can be seen on page 28.

It seemed fitting to use wool to work the design; so tapestry yarn, Persian wool and Silk n’ Ivory were my choices.
