Day 156: Cover Page Florentine Embroidery Design

Florentine embroidery, bargello, bargello needlepoint patterns, bargello needlepoint, free bargello patterns, bargello stitch, 2010 Bargello Challenge, bargello patterns, bargello embroidery, bargello needlework, needlepoint books, Barbara MullerThe cover page of Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller is what first attracted me to this Bargello needlepoint book. I couldn’t wait to stitch today’s Bargello design.

The original Florentine embroidery design, found on pp. 30-32, was stitched with a 6-3 step using stranded cotton on 30 count even-weave linen.

I worked the Bargello pattern on 18-mesh canvas with Madeira Mouline Egyptian Cotton Embroidery Floss in four colors.
