The cover page of Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller is what first attracted me to this Bargello needlepoint book. I couldn’t wait to stitch today’s Bargello design.
The original Florentine embroidery design, found on pp. 30-32, was stitched with a 6-3 step using stranded cotton on 30 count even-weave linen.
I worked the Bargello pattern on 18-mesh canvas with Madeira Mouline Egyptian Cotton Embroidery Floss in four colors.
