A variation of the Bargello Flame pattern, this design has an assortment of peaks (3 at the bottom and one at the top).
Found on pp. 34-35 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller, it is worked over 6 threads and up or down 3 threads.
I felt in the mood to experiment with thread choices; so I used Silk n’ Ivory, Splendor, and J. L. Walsh Silk Perle.

Today’s Bargello Flame pattern can be reversed or worked in a 4-2 step; however, it will not appear as bottomless as when worked in a 6-3 step. |
