Day 160: Optical Illusion Bargello Line Design

One way to create an optical illusion in Bargello needlepoint is to alternate color schemes while working the pattern.

This Bargello pattern, found on pp. 38-39 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller, has a 6-2 step and a Brick Bargello Filler Stitch dividing strip.

I used 6 different shades of Silk n’ Ivory yarn to work the Bargello design.
