Day 163: Jagged Diagonal Bargello Line Design

Florentine embroidery, bargello, bargello needlepoint patterns, bargello needlepoint, free bargello patterns, bargello stitch, 2010 Bargello Challenge, bargello patterns, bargello embroidery, bargello needlework, needlepoint books, Barbara MullerFor a sharp and jagged Bargello needlepoint line design, consider this pattern found on pp. 44-45 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller.

For best results, the 6-4 step Bargello pattern requires meticulous counting when working the bottom edge to ensure that the sharp points are carried throughout. If the points are not stitched the Bargello design will not be well-defined.

I used Silk n’ Ivory and Needlepoint Silk by Alyce Schroth to work the design.
