Up to a Bargello challenge? This Hungarian Point design, found on pp. 58-59 in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller will give it to you!
This Bargello design is a definite mind-bender.
Not only do you have to focus on carefully following the 4-row pattern, simultaneously you must work 7 complimentary colors in a 12-row color sequence.
I used Silk n’ Ivory threads throughout.

Cool! Are you going to post a photo of your finished full scale project?
Christine, I LOVE IT!!! I’ve just recently completed a pillow using a design similar to yours. Actually, I fell in love with Day 33 and Day 34 Bargello Challenge designs and just had to complete a full scale project. Keep on stitchin’ Bargello needlepoint. Althea
A copy is on its way to me! Here’s a photo of my latest WIP, based on the pattern from one of my grandmother’s cushions from the 70s. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7639642@N03/4739488098/
Hello Christine, it will be worth it to find a copy of the book. The designs are such fun to stitch! Althea
I really want this pattern, so am going to try to find a copy of the book. Thank you so much for posting these wonderful, inspiring patterns.
Thanks Sara for the encouragement, and for sharing Bargello Needlepoint.com with your friends. Althea
Dear Althea,
