With only a few days left in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller, today’s Bargello Challenge design is another in a series of Bargello flame and line designs.
Found on pp. 84-85, the Bargello pattern consists of three peaks and three valleys which are worked up, down and across the needlepoint canvas.
Flame patterns seem to work best with wool threads; so I used Silk n’ Ivory and J.L. Walsh Silk Wool to stitch the design.

There are only a few more Bargello designs left to embroider in this book. I’ve truly enjoyed stitching a la Barbara Muller. |
