The last pattern in Florentine Embroidery by Barbara Muller is a clever combination of Gobelin bands and Flame stitch peaks.
Found on pp. 94-95, it is worked by embroidering the flame stitches first, and then inserting the Gobelin bands into the vacant spaces between the Bargello peaks.
Eight complementary colors are suggested including 5 shades of green and 3 of red.
I used 7 shades of Silk n’ Ivory to stitch the entire Bargello design.
