Day 185: Rondel Bargello Needlepoint Design

That’s the question I asked while working on today’s Bargello needlepoint design from Bargello Magic by Pauline Fischer and Anabel Lasker.

A rondel is a small circle, and this Bargello pattern found on page 73, is worked by reversing one of the rows in the rippling wave design to form an eyelet, and filling the center with a specialty stitch of your choice.

I chose the Rhodes stitch to lend texture and interest to the Bargello design.

The entire design was worked in J.L. Walsh Silk Wool.
