A very interesting Bargello needlepoint design with monochromatic harmonies that bring to mind the colors of the countryside.
The Bargello pattern found on page 101 in Bargello Magic by Pauline Fischer and Anabel Lasker, starts in the center of the canvas and is worked outward to the right and then left.
Country Cousins Bargello needlepoint has mostly a 6-1 step. The center motif has an assortment of steps and colors. When the entire design is completed a horizontal stitch in bright red is worked in a running stitch across the blocks of two stitches.
I used Silk n’ Ivory to work the design.
