This design found on page 93 in Bargello Magic by Pauline Fischer and Anabel Lasker, is adapted from oriental enamel work.

Although it is considered to be an intermediate Bargello design, the pattern is quite intricate and requires extreme attention to detail and stitch counting. In fact, the authors suggest working the pattern on a doodle canvas to master its complexities.

The frame outline must be stitch first; as stitches frequently share meshes to change directions.

I used Twedie 18 and Silk n’ Ivory to work the Bargello design.
