Day 202: Florentine Signets Bargello Needlepoint Design

This advanced Bargello needlepoint design has a Renaissance flavor. It is quite suitable for jewelry box covers, handbags or accent pieces.

Found on page 114 in Bargello Magic by Pauline Fischer and Anabel Lasker, it is best worked in metallic and silk threads. I used all Kreinik metallics to work the design because I wanted the feel of turquoise jewels with settings of antique gold.

There’s a lot going on in this Bargello pattern; so careful attention should be paid to the signet centers and clusters, which have alternate groupings.
