Day 212: Dhurri Design Bargello Border

This Bargello Border design is taken from the Bargello Dhurri Collection by Shirley Delph. It works great as a Bargello needlepoint mat to showcase small projects.

Here is a picture of the complete design including Day 210, Day 211, and today’s Bargello border.

I like the fact that the border is only on one side of the canvas. It adds a design flair to the entire pillow.

Since I love this Bargello design so much, I’m planning on making it as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter, Gabby.

Again, the Bargello pattern is worked over 6 threads with various compensating stitches, and I used J.L. Walsh Silk Cord to work it.

Interesting Tidbit: Bargello Classic Collection

Dhurri is a thick flat-woven rug or carpet used traditionally in India as floor-coverings. The designs in this Bargello collection place groups of long stitches of the same size close together to simulate thickness.
