If you want a challenge to the traditional way of stitching a Bargello flame pattern, try this irregular mountain peaks design.
Taken from Teach Yourself Bargello by Barbara Hunter, it has uneven steps and stitch lengths.
The key to a successful result with this Bargello pattern is to work the first row according to the pattern, and then to match each stitch length in subsequent rows above and below the first one.
Just watch how the design unfolds to create a unique Bargello pattern. The irregular pattern will break all the Bargello rules; but some days it’s worth it!
I used Paternayan Persian Yarn and Silk n’ Ivory to work the design.
