Day 218: Scallop Ripple Stitch Bargello Design

Today’s Bargello Challenge design is a scallop ripple stitch. It is a reverse repeat pattern that is worked from right to left row by row.

Taken from Teach Yourself Bargello by Barbara Hunter, the combination flame and curvature patterns are worked over four threads with one and two steps.

Instead of a smooth scallop top, this Bargello pattern has jagged peaks in the middle of the curve.

I used Silk n’ Ivory and J.L. Walsh Silk Wool to work the design.
