Found on pp. 29-33 in Bargello Stars, Shells, and Borders by Josephine Ruth Paine, the Frogs Bargello pattern is featured today. The remaining motifs and borders will be worked over the next three days.

This design was so much fun to stitch. My granddaughter wants to keep it when the Bargello Challenge is over.

I used Vineyard Silk, Silk n’ Ivory and overdyed Silk n’ Colors and 14-mesh needlepoint canvas to work the design.

P.S. Although this book is hard to find, a Bargello needlepoint.com reader mentioned that copies are still available at Ruth Kern Books.

  1. Hello Kim,

The patterns are all copyrighted works by the various designers and therefore each book has to be purchased or borrowed from a friend or library. I have been so inspired by the designs that plan to release my own original versions of some of my favorite Bargello patterns later this year. Stay tuned…Althea

Are the patterns for the challenge available without having to purchase all the books? Will they all be available after the end of this year?
