You MUST pay particular attention to each row and line of the pattern. Stitching success depends on it!

Overall, there is a 4-1 step to this Bargello design, found on pp.96-97 in Bargello: An Explosion In Color by Margaret Boyles; but sometimes the step decreases to 3-1 or increases to 6-1.

The designer suggests that you place the two central green rows that form the diamond first, and then follow the rows outward for the balance of the pattern.
