That’s the advice I would give when working this Bargello pattern. No guesswork here.
You MUST pay particular attention to each row and line of the pattern. Stitching success depends on it!
Overall, there is a 4-1 step to this Bargello design, found on pp.96-97 in Bargello: An Explosion In Color by Margaret Boyles; but sometimes the step decreases to 3-1 or increases to 6-1.
The bright colors can also add to the confusion. The designer suggests that you place the two central green rows that form the diamond first, and then follow the rows outward for the balance of the pattern.
