Although this Bargello pattern is designated “little trees” by Margaret Boyles on pp. 100-101 in Bargello: An Explosion In Color, it made me think of mushrooms–a whole field of them.
If you use various shades of green or rust monochromatic colors, you can depict spring, summer or fall trees. I’ll have to do that some day. Meanwhile, I’ll stick to my taupe and brown shades for the mushrooms.
In any event, this 4-2 step Bargello embroidery pattern was actually more fun to stitch than I thought it would be. I used Silk n’ Ivory threads from Brown Paper Packages. This thread is not available for direct online purchase from the manufacturer; but you can purchase it from an online retail needlepoint store or your local needlepoint shop.
