The second advanced Florentine embroidery pattern in Bargello: An Explosion In Color by Margaret Boyles, is found on pp. 108-109.
In addition to the 6-1 step, this design creates an interesting line throughout. Care must be taken to ensure that you are always keeping the pattern of two short stitches under two long ones or the rows will not work out right..
I used the following six colors in my design: three greens, two oranges, and one yellow. All threads were Madeira’s SILK hand embroidery thread. Although somewhat hard to find, Madeira’s hand embroidery threads can be purchased online at Sewing & Craft Club.
