The Gobelin Droit stitch is one of the seven Bargello Filler Stitches.
Although this pattern, found on pp. 118-119 in Bargello: An Explosion In Color by Margaret Boyles, is technically not a true Bargello pattern, it does create a nice geometric design that can be used in fun needlepoint projects.
When completed, it looks like a maze, and is a great example of how flexible the upright Gobelin stitch really is.
Consider using it in combination with other Bargello stitches to make larger pieces; or as a standalone stitching project for a child’s game board.
I used yellow and warm rust Silk n’ Ivory threads to work the design.
