The Florentine Swag Bargello Pattern works well for a handbag or chair cover, and in my opinion, it looks best when stitched with Persian wool or tapestry yarns.
The design is found on 65-66 in Traditional Bargello by Dorothy Phelan.
It has a 5-2 step with a 50-stitch pattern repeat.
To showcase a “tweed-like” texture and feel, I used six different shades of Twedie 18.
