Although this easy Bargello curvature pattern has a 4-2 step, it gives an illusion of regular curves by grouping multiple stitches next to each other without the “step”, and varying the number of stitches in progression when working the step.
Found on pp. 5-6 in Golden Hands Bargello from Random House, this Florentine embroidery pattern offers an appealing surprise as it reverses the order of the colors on one side of the design.
I used several monochromatic shades of Madeira Mouline Egyptian Cotton Hand Embroidery Floss to work the design.
