What a fun design! Bargello Stars and Stripes combines the Bargello Brick Filler Stitch with a bit of Flame Stitch to create a stunning parade of stars across a striped canvas. The stripes radiate from one central star.
The Bargello pattern, found on pp. 18-19 in Golden Hands Bargello from Random House, has a 4-2 step and is worked by stitching the central star first, and then working a few stitches of stripes in all four directions. Complete the placement of the remaining stars and fill in the background stripes.
I used Silk n’ Ivory threads in two shades of blue and white to complete the design.
