You don’t need 3-D glasses to see the colorful Bargello embroidery boxes in this needlepoint pattern found on pp. 18-19 in Golden Hands Bargello from Random House.
Each Bargello box is worked in three tones of one color. The lightest tone is worked in the Bargello Brick Filler Stitch in a 4-2 step of the front face of each box; the medium and dark tones are worked in a Gobelin Stitch in a 4-1 step on the top and sides of each box.
I used several colorful shades of Madeira Mouline Egyptian Cotton Hand Embroidery Floss to work the design.

Although Golden Hands Bargello uses Peri-Lusta yarns in each of its designs; it recommends 3-ply Persian yarn as a substitute. |
