This Bargello design, found on page 28 in Golden Hands Bargello, is based on the 5th picture from the left of the second row of the sampler rug.
It reminds me of Bargello diamonds with crosses in the center, and is a fitting tribute to Easter Sunday and my father, who would have been 82 years old today.
The Bargello diamond outline should be worked first, paying particular attention to the top and sides. They do not intersect as in similar diamond patterns.
I used I used Madeira Metallic Embroidery Thread for the crosses and Silk n’ Ivory to work the rest of the design.
Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Daddy
