Most children associate needlepoint with mothers, grandmas, and aunts—all female relatives; but fathers love Bargello needlepoint too! On June 21st this year, we will celebrate Father’s Day—a time to remember all fathers everywhere. Why not give your dad a piece of hand-stitched Bargello needlepoint?
There are some great quick and easy gifts you can stitch to brighten your Father’s Day celebration. Bargello needlepoint box tops, coasters, key rings, ornaments, picture frames and more make great gifts. If you are an avid needlepointer, you already have what you need in your Bargello stash to make a gift. Most likely all you will have to purchase is the item the Bargello needlepoint will be inserted into.

Maybe you have additional ideas in mind for that special dad, grandpa, uncle or brother; but if you don’t, use these tips to stitch the perfect Father’s Day Gift.
- Think about the things fathers like to do—hobbies, movies, sports, gym and fitness. If you’re not sure what your dads will like, observe them for a few days to get gift ideas.
- Shop for creative items that you can use to insert needlework. You’ll be surprised how many inexpensive and fun gifts can be found at discount department stores and craft stores.
- Choose a Bargello design, threads and needlepoint canvas. Use items from your Bargello stash, or if you’re just getting started and don’t have a stash, visit your local needlepoint shop or craft store. Consider these project ideas: pillow, wallet, eyeglass case, coasters, ash tray, jewelry box insert, book cover, belt, picture frame, iPod case or cummerbund.
- Stitch the Bargello needlepoint in a quiet place, so that you can keep your dad in mind while doing so. This is especially important if you are stitching a surprise Bargello gift.

I agree. My Father still loves the Bargello needlepoint gifts I make him for birthdays, Christmas and Father’s Day.

There is no better gift than one that is homemade with love. I bet any father would love a needlepoint gift.
