The Hungarian Bargello Filler Stitch creates diamond shapes that add a great deal of texture to any design.
The most common version of this stitch has a 2:4:2 pattern with one vertical stitch that covers two canvas threads on either side of a center vertical stitch that covers four canvas threads.
The Hungarian Stitch is worked horizontally by row from one side of the design area to the next. Each complete Hungarian diamond unit is separated from another by skipping two vertical threads in between.
