Recently, I was blessed with a HUGE selection of fibers in the perfect colors I need to make a Bargello Stitchin’ Chair seat cover!
At the last Japanese Embroidery class, a dear stitchin’ friend Michelle Monier, EGA Instructor, brought an amazing gift of all kinds of fibers that were overflowing a large kitchen garbage sized plastic bag (without the garbage).
She knew that fellow classmate Bob Haven, a professor at the University of Kentucky, would be able to use it in his theater costume work; but she had no idea that I needed it also for a Bargello needlepoint chair seat cover.
As I sat next to him drooling over the gorgeous colors and textures, he asked if I wanted some of them, and I answered “yes” without the least bit of hesitation! Bob promptly gave me first pick of the entire bag, and I chose ALL the colors and the estimated amount I will need for the pillow!
Thread Manna Contents
My thread manna contains at least 10 different colors of DMC Tapestry Wool, a heavy weight single ply wool thread that’s great for stitching on 14 mesh needlepoint canvas (the gauge I will need for the chair cover). Also included is DMC Floralia 3-ply Persian wool that rivals that of Paternayan, and an assortment of unique silk threads from Rajmahal.
Thanks Bob, for your kindness; and Michelle, YOU are an angel, who rained thread manna from heaven!
Now, I only have to purchase needlepoint canvas. I am TRULY blessed indeed!
