It used to be that the only metallic thread available for needlepoint was manufactured by Kreinik. Now a plethora of metallics abound. Even so, some of my favorite metallic threads are made by Kreinik, a family owned company dedicated to producing high quality threads and fibers.
I love the shimmer and glitz of these threads in a Bargello needlepoint project. Originally manufactured under the name, Balger®, they add sparkling realism to any project and are carefully crafted with the stitcher in mind. Kreinik Metallics come in different textures like braids, cables and ribbons in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. The best way to spotlight Kreinik Metallics is to let them tell their story.
Krenik Metallics – Ease of Use
Rating:

Kreinik Metallics work best when stitching with about 14″ of thread. If you use one size larger needle to slightly open holes between canvas threads, it will keep the metallic from rubbing off or stripping.
