Thread Spotlight: Vineyard Silk

Since I have a passion for silk thread–especially for working small Bargello needlepoint projects, I am always on the lookout for unique silk varieties such as Vineyard Silk by Wiltex Threads.

Vineyard Silk Thread

This 100% Chinese silk comes in three lines: Classic, Shimmer and Tone-on-Tone. Vineyard Classic is a high sheen single strand silk thread that comes in 210 solid colors.

Vineyard Shimmer, a variation of the Classic line, has metallic spun with silk and comes in 46 colors; and Vineyard Tone-on-Tone is a subtle overdyed tonal single strand silk thread that comes in 18 colors.

I like the way this silk thread glides through needlepoint canvas. Vineyard Silk can be purchased at your local needlepoint shop or online stores; but not directly from the manufacturer.
