There are many cultures that use candles in their holiday celebrations. In centuries past, Christmas candles were used to ward off darkness and light the way for new beginnings.
In the Victorian Era Christmas candles were used to decorate the tree. Each branch would have a candle attached to it with melted wax or pins. The candle represented the star that guided the three wise men to the dwelling place of Jesus, the Christ Child.
Today, candles are not just used at Christmastime, but for decorating the home or to give as gifts. They come in wonderful scents, unique shapes and sizes, and in decorative containers.
Color Scheme
Beginners and experienced stitchers will find the Bargello Needlepoint Christmas Candles Ornament quick and easy to make. Colorful Christmastime red, green and blue are used to stitch the candles; and to complete the ornament little flames of fire are added to the top of each candle as a symbol of Christ’s message of peace, love, and joy.

Thank you so much for this series. I was holding my breath as I hit Print for this pattern as I couldn’t print the snowman pattern for some reason. But this one printed fine and I look forward to stitching it.
